VAT RELIEF
VAT Exemption and VAT Relief are two phrases you may have heard a lot when looking at mobility products.
Most of our products have two prices - one with and one without VAT. VAT Relief is available on products specially designed for use by those with a long term medical condition or illness in a personal or domestic setting.
We hope that this guide will offer some explanation of who and when you can claim VAT Relief as well as the process of how to claim VAT Relief at the time of ordering online and in store.
Why Two Prices?
Most of the products on this website have two prices - this means that this product qualifies for VAT relief and can be purchased without paying the VAT.
This status is given to products which are specifically designed to be used to relieve the symptoms of a chronic illness or disability.
Where a single price is shown, the product does not qualify for VAT relief and the price includes VAT.
Am I Eligible?
Where two prices are shown for a product, the lower price (which excludes VAT) is available to those who are chronically sick, disabled or terminally ill. Chronically sick means that you have an illness that is likely to last a long time (such as arthritis, angina, etc). Disabled means substantially and permanently handicapped by illness or injury.
You do not have to be registered disabled to claim relief from VAT, but the nature of your illness or disablement must be specified in your declaration.
Unfortunately you do not qualify if you are elderly but able-bodied or if you are only temporarily disabled or injured.
How do I claim?
Claiming VAT relief is simple and quick. There are no assessments and you do not need to provide medical proof of any disability or condition. You simply need to fill in a quick form either online, in person or through the post.
Online
You will be asked whether you wish to claim relief from VAT during the checkout process. If you do wish to claim you will just need to state the illness or medical condition you are suffering from and tick to confirm that you wish to claim exemption and that the information you have provided is correct. It's that easy!
In Store
When buying an item in store it is just as easy to claim VAT relief as it is online. Our friendly staff will provide you with a simple form to fill out where you simply need to list your condition, name, address and provide a signature. It takes under a minute to fill out and can help save you a lot of money.
By Phone
If you would like to place your order by telephone and wish to claim VAT relief, we will have to charge you the VAT initially and then refund it to you once we have received a signed declaration. Once we receive your telephone order, we will send your goods to you along with a VAT declaration form for you to sign and send back to us using the Freepost address provided. Once we have received your signed declaration we will refund you the VAT difference to the same card you paid with.
We are required to retain a copy of your declaration and it may be passed to HM Customs & Excise as evidence of your eligibility. Your data is stored securely and will never be used for any marketing purposes or given to any 3rd parties. If you are in any doubt whether you qualify for VAT relief, please click here to email our customer services or call 01444 253 300. Details / Clearwell Aguna Ultralight
The Clearwell Aguna Ultralight features everything you have come to love from the original Clearwell Aguna model but with the added bonus of significantly reduced weight.
The new version of our popular Aguna model is constructed with a lightweight aluminium frame and lithium batteries as standard which help reduce the overall weight of the scooter significantly and mean the heaviest section of the scooter now weighs only 10kg (22lbs).
Available in a choice of 4 stylish colours, the Aguna Ultralight is even easier to dismantle and manage when storing or transporting in the boot of a car. The Aguna Ultralight can be separated into 5 easy to manage pieces with ease making it perfect for trips to town or days out with family and friends.
The lightweight lithium battery is easy to manage with its own easy to handle pack and when completely charged can offer up to 10 miles driving in optimum conditions. The battery can be charged via two sockets. The first being located on the tiller and the second on the battery box itself. Should you wish to charge the battery separately from the scooter, simply remove the battery box from the scooter and connect the charger to the battery box and then your chosen mains socket.
For added reliability and security the Aguna Ultralight features puncture proof front and rear tyres which makes traversing almost any terrain worry-free. For extra comfort over uneven or bumpy terrain the Ultralight features all-round suspension and a full padded seat.
The easy to use control panel is laid out with practicality and readability in mind. The battery gauge is designed to show you quickly and easily how much charge you batteries have to help you plan your journey before leaving home.
For long journeys the Aguna Ultralight features an ergonomic, delta handlebar which is designed with a soft padded covering for extra comfort and supportive arm rests to make driving even more relaxing.
UPGRADE TO THE AGUNA ENDURANCEFor those want to travel further afield, the Endurance is the perfect scooter for you. With all the features of the Ultralight, its 21Ah Lithium battery upgrade gives the Endurance an increased range of up to 20miles (32km) on a single charge.
