The easy to read screen displays Sp02, PR, pulse bar and plethysmogram which allows you to monitor a number of conditions with ease. The device can be used by both adults and children and can help give early indications of respiratory infections before other symptoms occur.

After use the oximeter automatically turns off and also displays a low battery indicator when it is time to change batteries. The device comes with a lanyard making it ideal for taking out and about with ease.

Oximeters work by simply firing infra-red light rays through the fingertip and in turn measure the amount of oxygen in the blood. This is achieved by comparing the difference in light absorption between oxygenated and deoxygenated blood. The reading you see on the display is simply the percentage of oxygenated blood. The ideal number to see displayed is as close to 100% as possible.

Any reading below 92-93% for sustained periods of time suggest an issue which should be highlighted to a medical professional.

This fingertip oximeter also measures the wearers pulse which can also provide a good guide for medical conditions or other issues. The pulse is displayed as a visual bar as well as a number (bpm). The oximeter should be worn on the forefinger or middle finger for best results and the hand should be resting on a surface in a relaxed position to allow the best possible blood flow.
