In total 9 teams took part in the cup sponsored by Clearwell Mobility. The teams were split into 3 groups of three teams and each team playing the other 2 teams in their group twice.

After a series of closely fought matches across the day Brighton and Hove Dolphins, Worthing Strikers and Brighton and Hove Penguins were crowned as champions in their three respective groups. Each team was presented with a trophy to mark the occasion and welcomed back to the next event to defend their title.

The success and popularity of Walking Football has skyrocketed over the past couple of years with more people being away of the sport and the accessibility for members to join. TheBrighton and Hove club alone now boasts a regular membership of over 35, allowing them to frequently field up 3 full teams at competitions with ages ranging all the way up to 80 years old.

Jobe Berrington, Head Coach of Brighton and Hove Walking Football Club said, “We were very pleased with how it went off and we have had a lot of positive feedback from other teams and players - and one of the referees! So there is every chance that we shall be making it an annual event.”

Duncan Gillett, Managing Director of Clearwell Mobility was quoted as saying, “It’s great to see the work that Jobe and the rest of the team have been putting in coming to fruition. The size of the membership of the Brighton and Hove club alone shows how popular the sport has become and events such as this are great for spreading the word even further.”
