HR Administrator

Location: Burgess Hill, West Sussex
Type: Permanent, Full Time
Hours: 37.5 hours/5 days per week, Monday – Friday
Salary: Competitive salary, commensurate with experience
Reporting to: Managing Director

Main Responsibilities

  1. Managing recruitment of new staff including advertising positions, job descriptions, shortlisting candidates, and booking interviews
  2. Carrying out and assisting with interviews
  3. Creating and sending job offer letters
  4. Doing right to work checks, reference checking, and DBS and Driving Licence checks
  5. Ordering and issuing uniform
  6. Preparing starter packs (including contracts) and carrying out inductions with new staff
  7. Implementing, updating and upholding company policies and procedures
  8. Managing staff holiday requests and coordinating cover where necessary
  9. Preparing monthly rotas for all locations (currently 12 showrooms)
  10. Preparing monthly payroll for all employees
  11. Creating, updating and submitting staff pension contributions
  12. Coordinating regular staff appraisals
  13. Agreeing and monitoring training plans for each employee, including booking training courses such as first aid, fire, and machinery training
  14. Supporting senior managers with disciplinary proceedings
  15. Keep up to date with employment law and advise managers as appropriate

Skills Needed

  • Ability to work under own initiative
  • Organised and thorough, with good attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Good written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritise and meet tight deadlines

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Previous experience in similar role preferred
  • HR qualification would be beneficial but not essential
